Sri Subhananda Ammavari Temple is a famous holy place in Kaleshwaram village in Telangana state. This temple is a part of the Sri Kaleshwara Mukteshwara Swamy Temple complex, which is a famous Shaivite temple in South India.
Temple Features
Deity: Sri Subhananda Devi (Parvati Devi) is enshrined in a separate shrine. Devotees first worship Kaleshwara (Yamadharmaraja) and then Mukteshwara (Shiva). It is noteworthy that there are two Shivalingas in the sanctum sanctorum here.
Special Pujas: Every year in the month of Kartika, special pujas and abhishekams are performed on the occasion of Mahashivratri. On this occasion, devotees perform pradakshina around the amla tree and light lakhs of lamps to worship the Swami and Ammavar.
Best Time to Visit
Kartika month (October-November) Special pujas and lamp worship are performed during this time. The circumambulation of the Udhampur tree and Karthika Deepotsavam are special attractions. Mahashivratri (February-March)Mahashivaratri is celebrated with great pomp at the Kaleshwara Muktishwara Swamy Temple. Night vigils and Shiva archanas give the devotees a sacred experience.
